Hunter Martineau contributed in all areas during Hilbert’s two basketball games last week and earned his second career Hawk of the Week honor.
The 5-11 freshman point guard scored 15 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished for 20 assists in Hilbert’s 1 point loss at Penn State Behrend and their three point victory at Mt. Aloysius. He averaged 35 minutes scored 7.5 points (46.2% FG), grabbed six rebounds and dished 10 assists per game.
The Orlando, FL product started the week with an 11-point, 9-assist performance in Hilbert’s 69-68 loss against Penn State Behrend. Martineau then helped the team regroup as they claimed an 80-77 road win at Mt. Aloysius where he chipped in four points, pulled down six rebounds and was credited with 11 assists. Hilbert improved to 8-7 overall and currently sit in s 5th place tie at 5-4.
As the Hawks turn the corner and now begin the second-half of their AMCC league schedule, Martineau leads the entire conference with 65 assists and a 3.4 assist to turnover ratio in nine AMCC games. He holds a +25 assist lead over the next closest league opponent.
