Senior Justin Hulbert lived up to his reputation last week and earned his first Hawk of the Week honor.
Hulbert picked up two wins throwing 10 innings as he helped the Hawks earn the program’s first AMCC post-season bid. He struck out 19, allowed seven hits, one walk with two earned runs to post a 1.80 ERA.
The Newfield, NY native started the week with a relief appearance against D’Youville. In Hilbert’s 10-2 victory, he walked one and struck out seven of the nine batters he faced April 27th.
Then in a must-win situation in their final league double header, Hulbert rose to the occasion. He pitched a complete game, faced 30 batters and struck out 12 while giving up seven hits and two earned runs in the 15-2 victory over Penn State Altoona.
