Kirkland Ottey leadership and ability to perform within the winning-basketball system earned him his second career Hawk of the Week honor.   Ottey quarterbacked the men’s basketball team to the 2015-16 regular season championship title and the #1 seed in the AMCC play-offs.

The 5’10 point guard averaged 32 minutes producing 15 points (75% FG), 5.5 rebounds and three assists a game.  He helped the basketball team pick-up a pair of must-win games in the final week of the regular season ensuring the Hawks host the championship-weekend for the second time in four years.

Ottey tallied 17 points hitting 3-for-4 from beyond the arc and grabbed seven rebounds against #24 ranked Penn State Behrend in a fight to see who would earn the title.  Ottey dished the ball four times to his teammates who unraveled the Lions’ #1 ranked team defense in DIII with a 63-59 victory.

The New Rochelle native directed the Hawks 83-74 road win with 13 points, four rebounds and two assists.  He connected on all three shots from the floor, two from downtown and added five free throws.
