Katelyn Proy had a fantastic introduction to collegiate competition, and for her impressive effort, the freshman earned her first Hawk of the Week honor.
The 6-2 forward helped the Hawks to a 78-57 victory over visiting Geneva November 14. Proy shot 78% from the floor (7 for 9) and picked up one ‘and-one’ for a 100% from the foul line, totaling 15 points in her debut. The Kenmore native also ripped 17 rebounds, five on the offensive glass. Defensively, she came up with one steal and three blocks, while adding two assists.
The women’s basketball team avenged a road loss to Geneva one year ago, and with their victory, the Hawks earned the program’s first season-opening win dating back to the 2004-05 season.
