After establishing a new program record October 12, the Hilbert College golf TEAM has been selected as Hawks of the Week. Ryan Bungo, Jeffrey Morgan, Caleb Nellis, Ryan Ratajczak and Jacob Reinecke each will be forever remembered for powering the team to a 6th place finish with a 696 team score at the 2015 AMCC Championships.
The Hawks started the two-day tourney with a 354, 7th place ride. Jeffrey Morgan led the group with an 84 score, while Caleb Nellis and Ryan Ratajczak each shot 89s. Jacob Reinecke fired a 92 for the team’s 354 opening day round. Ryan Bungo posted an even 100.
Two of the four scoring-players sliced points off their opening day efforts, fueled by Ratajczak’s 14-stroke drop (75) on day two. Morgan and Nellis carded 85’s and Reinecke ran the course for a 96. Bungo lowered his results by three strokes as well (97).
The Hawks set a new program record with 696 total points and tied the 2007 team with a 6th place finish, the highest the program has reached in the championship event.
